So there I was, reading up on crafting mat farming locations when I stumble upon an older post on farming and leveling in the Crucible. The player can select his preferred map or opt for it to be randomized. The Crucible features six battlegrounds, each with different layouts and defensive positions. Each difficulty presents tougher challenges, but also greater rewards. Defeating the first waves of enemies of a difficulty will unlock the next. Each contains waves of enemies for the player to face with the Ashes of Malmouth Expansion. The Crucible features three difficulty modes for the player to test their characters: Aspirant, Challenger and Gladiator. The Crucible was conceived as a stretch goal during Crate's successful Kickstarter campaign.
It helps if you know when the dangerous stuff is out there. After you play it a few times you learn which enemies spawn on which waves.
